Kate DiIoia. Digital Creativity

Ms.DiIoia went to Temple University for their Film and Media Arts program.  She received a very well rounded education from them, learning all the basics of filmmaking, storytelling, script writing, filming techniques, and a variety of different genres of film and tv, even including some time in a tv studio setting.  She also had the opportunity to take on different roles of filmmaking, including directing actors, being part of the lighting and camera crew, and, of course, editing. Her passion is compositing and special effects, having taught herself Adobe After Effects, Cinema 4D and Maya during her free time at school. She is proficient in all editing systems (Adobe Premiere CC, Final Cut 7-10, Avid Editing Systems).

Since graduating Temple, DiIoia worked as a freelance videographer and editor for a variety of projects. From office management and editing for various Philadelphia industrial film and commercial companies to filming weddings and music videos under her own production label. Most recently, she began working with the talented folks over at Stratagem Pictures, immediately proving herself as an invaluable asset to the team.  Her knowledge of film combined with her visual effects background and expertise with the Adobe Creative suite quickly earned her a permanent seat as the Visual Effects Supervisor with the fast-growing commercial and music video company.  This year alone she has created over 300 unique motion graphics, filmed a documentary for the Pennsylvania Youth Wrestling Association, produced a dozen music videos, and created almost as many commercials for web and commercial clients. Her products also include effect and green screen compositing, photography, image editing, and 3D design creation working primarily with Cinema 4D.  Her photography includes portraiture, photojournalism as well as some event, and product photography.

Kate's experience with film and tv is an amalgamation of things.  The most important aspect of it is how it was that she became inspired to become a film maker and learn more about it in the first place.  DiIoia was always interested in film, ever since she was little, but when she went into junior year of high school, her parents her a camcorder very similar to a flip camera, before there were flip cameras.  This was before cameras had cell phones, and also before every kid in school was carrying one around.  So her device and experience was unique.  It only held 10 minutes of video at a time, but she had it out constantly every day, filming her friends, her teachers, her clubs, everything, and then returning home every day to dump the footage onto her computer so it would be ready for the next day of filming.  The little device also came with some editing software, which she immediately became a pro at using and created little vignettes using all the footage she had collected.  This device was the vehicle for her inspiration to choose filmmaking as my major in college and her ultimate goal of making filmmaking a most rewarding career.
